Dullsville to Disneyland
Last January our downtown business district looked similar to downtown Berlin 1946.
Now it's slowly progressing along with a new concrete road , double wide side walks and retro style street lights.
I've made some interesting observations about business activity in our city from Thanksgiving to our approaching Christmas Holiday.
The thing that appears most fascinating is the number of people who travel on foot.
There used to be more bike riding enthusiasts , but even on warm weather days you'll only see two or three grown Men pedaling down 5th Avenue North.
One of the regular Elderly Bike Riders has a Beach Cruiser with a big basket, he's a devoted Angler sporting fishing poles, tackle box & a white bucket.
We have a new street running through downtown

He has a large collection of Project Cushman vehicles and a nice selection of restored Cushman's ready to show or go!
Debbie has quality used furniture, housewares, home decor, all the neat things our Grandparents had ...even nifty collectibles from the 1950's & 1960's.
Rust and Dust is a family owned business.
Debbie and Keith invested their own time and life savings in their business.
They survived Hurricane Ike despite heavy flood and wind damage to their home.
After the Bank Crash of October 2008, they remained opened.
True Texas Pioneers in the classic sense.
Self reliant, independent small business owners who built their own business without any Federal Cheese or Chicago Pork
Texans like us know that if you don't work, you don't eat.
In our world we provide goods and services.
We do it because there is a need.
As we move towards 2013
Think about a City like Dullsville
A place were all the windows and doors are boarded up.
Roofs of building caved in from standing water.
Weeds overgrown in parking lots with gates & fences falling over.
A town where Strange Characters cut down the
electric lines & telephone wires.
Don't let Texas City end up looking like Dullsville
We are bringing Disneyland to the 146 Loop one storefront at a time.
Small business does what no Goverment Agent can do.
We restarted the Merchant Economy on the 146 Loop running through the old part of the downtown Texas City business district.
