It flew in the Spring of 1902 - powered by a two cylinder gasoline engine developing 80 horsepower

Concept of "wind wheel" - wheels within wheels equipped with vanes to give them lifting power

In Texarkana in 1903 it was destroyed by a hurricane

In 1910 another airship was built in Chicago - it flew successfully but Pilot crashed into a light pole & knocked off a wing

The helicopter is a direct descendant of the flying machine invented by Rev. Burrell Cannon, Pastor of a Baptist Church in Pittsburg , Texas
